PUP is having a busy summer with several adoption events and an expansion of our outreach efforts. In the past few months we’ve participated in Petpalooza, the Fremont Fair, and the American Family Pet Expo. These have all been great events and we’ve have had a wonderful time. Each has been an excellent opportunity to get the word out about PUP, make new friends, and visit with some furry friends from the past. Congratulations goes to Jessica Gaab, who won the CityBones Barkery gift basket at the Fremont Fair!
With warmer temperatures now upon us, it is a good time to remind everyone that summer heat can be deadly to animals. Last week, The Humane Society put together a great piece on how to keep your pets cool this summer, to include a Hot Car Flyer to share with friends and family members. It’s also a good idea to bring water with you when walking your dog to help them enjoy the walk just as much as you do!
Lastly, I have a story that’s too important not to share. It’s about a puppy named Barrel whose story will break your heart and further your resolve to put an end to animal cruelty. It’s stories like these that further our commitment at PUP to find wonderful homes for these and other dogs. Barrel needs your help so he can find his forever home. You can read his story here.
I hope to see you soon at a future PUP event.
My sincere thanks,
Laura Tonkin, PUP Founder
