Dog Of The Week – Fiona

PUP Fiona
Fiona’s Stats:
Female Rat Terrier mix
Approx. 2 years old
Approx. 11 lbs
Will do best in a home with older children (see info below)

Fiona’s History:
Fiona comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. PUP was asked to help and we are so glad we did!

Notes from Fiona’s Foster:
Fiona is a very loving, cuddly girl who loves to be around people.  She is a total lap dog and loves nothing more than to sit on her owners’ lap while watching TV or reading. She loves to take walks and can easily stand on her hind legs. She gets along great with my other young dogs – 1 year old Shih Tzu and 4 year old Golden Retriever. She plays very little with them but is happy grabbing a toy to chew on it by herself. She is curious with my cat and will watch him as he walks around the house. Although she will sometimes join the other dogs in chasing, it’s all in fun and there has been no aggressive behavior. We are working on her crate training. She will whine in the beginning, but quiets down if people have left for the day. She is house trained on a schedule and doing very well.

Fiona is best in a calmer environment, with older kids, or a dog-savvy home. She’s never shown anything negative with small children. She just prefers them older and calmer. Fiona is a sweetie and will make a great companion for some lucky adopter!
